Privacy notice

What this website and the customer portal record about you, why, for how long, who can see it, and how to say no.

Who we are. This website and the StreamVue customer portal are run by StreamVue Limited (Company No. 08906451). To ask anything about this notice, or about what we hold about you, write to us through the contact page.

What we record when you visit

For every page you open on this website, the customer portal or the API documentation, we record:

  • the page's address and title, and the site you came from when you arrived from another one;
  • how long the page was on screen;
  • your IP address and, when our hosting passes it on, your country;
  • your browser, operating system, screen size and language;
  • a random id kept in your browser (so that visits from the same browser can be grouped), and a visit id that ends after 30 minutes without activity. Neither says who you are.

On blog posts we also count readers: whether this browser has opened the post before (kept as a scrambled form of the browser id), when, the site you came from and your browser. Each browser is counted once per post.

If you are signed in, the page is recorded against your account and its email address. Once you sign in from a browser, the pages viewed earlier from that browser are linked to your account too.

What we record when you sign in

On the sign-in, forgotten-password and set-password pages we record sign-ins, sign-outs and password changes, and failed sign-ins and password reset requests with the email address that was typed and the reason our sign-in service gave. We keep these to protect accounts: they show when someone is trying to get into an account that is not theirs.

Why

To keep the website and the portal secure, to put things right when they go wrong, and to see which pages are used so that we can improve them. We do not sell this information, use it for advertising, or share it with advertisers.

How long we keep it

  • Page views, sign-ins, sign-outs and password changes: 12 months.
  • Failed sign-ins and password reset requests: 90 days.

After that they are deleted automatically.

Who can see it

Only StreamVue staff, on a page of the portal that nobody else can open. It is stored by our database provider, Supabase. The website uses no outside analytics, advertising or tracking services, and its fonts and pictures come from our own servers and our database provider.

The contact and demo forms

When you send the contact or demo form, we keep what you typed (your name, email address, company, phone number if you give it, and your message) so that our staff can answer you. To stop the forms being abused, we also keep a hashed copy of your IP address with the minute the form was sent, which limits how often a form can be sent from one place.

Your choices

You can stop your visits being counted from this browser with the switch below. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as the same choice. Sign-ins, failed sign-ins and password changes are still recorded, because they protect accounts, but they are then no longer linked to your browsing.

You can also ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, through the contact page. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
